“Save the Date” by Jenny B. Jones

Lucy Wiltshire started Saving Grace, a home for girls in the foster system and never got adopted. It’s a transitional, stable place for the girls to get on their feet. When she found out Sinclair Hotels was cutting 40% of her funding, Lucy was scared that Saving Grace was going to have to close. She attends a fancy gala where all the board members of Sinclair Hotels would be to try to talk to them about the funding situation.

Alex Sinclair is running for the First Congressional District of South Carolina. After an embarrassing incident with a board member, Lucy runs from the gala, surprised to find Alex following her. While he was calming her down two paparazzi took pictures that flooded the newspapers for weeks.

Alex, who was behind in the polls, saw a substantial jump because of the photos. So he made a deal. He asked Lucy to be his fake girlfriend, then fake fiance until two months after he wins the election in exchange for giving her all the funds to keep Saving Grace open and the deed to the building.
