“It’s My Life” by Melody Carlson

“Diary of a Teenage Girl: Caitlin, No. 2 (of 5)”

Caitlin O’Conner is 17 years old and back to writing in her diary. She needs her diary, to write, because it clears her head.

Caitlin’s relationship with Beanie has been of lack lately since she became pregnant. Beanie wants to keep the baby but the father, Zach, wants her to have an abortion. Needless to say, that relationship is on the rocks. Meanwhile, Caitlin became friends with Andrea LeMarsh.

Caitlin’s youth group is supposed to go to Mexico, including Caitlin’s ex-boyfriend, Josh Miller. Unfortunately, the event that brings everyone together as friends is when Beanie got hit by a car trying to save a little boy in the street. Beanie had a few broken ribs, bumps and bruises but she lost the baby.

Beanie still made it to Mexico, along with Caitlin, Zach, Josh and Andrea. The trip really put things into perspective for this group of friends. It really lit a fire under Caitlin to do more for the children in Mexico. Though something inside Caitlin felt funny. A missionary came to speak to her church and Caitlin was rivoted. She feels like God wants her to be a missionary as well. What is God’s calling to Caitlin?
