Sarah met Tommy in 1969 and soon gave birth to her first child. They married in 1972. Over time, Tommy’s drinking only increased and Sarah turned to the church for salvation and safe haven. When Tommy turned to hard drugs, Sarah became the punching bag for Tommy’s anger. She wanted out of her marriage but took her marriage vows seriously. Tommy was an alcoholic and addicted to hard drugs. He constantly turned to other woman for sex, giving Sarah an STD. Tommy threatened Sarah with a gun that if she ever made him leave, he would kill her and her father.
